Hi, I’m Erica -
I’m a watercolor artist and teaching artist who finds endless inspiration in the natural world. I love the fluid, unpredictable nature of watercolor and the way it captures light, atmosphere, and emotion. My work often explores the play of light and shadow and the quiet beauty of the spaces I move through.
Teaching is a joyful extension of my studio practice — I’m passionate about helping others discover the magic of watercolor and the simple pleasure of making art in good company.
BIO
Erica lives in Maine and works as a watercolor artist and teaching artist. She is an award-winning member of the New England Watercolor Society and has exhibited nationally and internationally. She has had the honor of having her painting, “Melting into Spring” published in the 19th edition of Splash, a yearly publication of top watercolor paintings from North America, and her work is widely exhibited and collected. Teaching aspiring artists to paint has become another passion for Erica in recent years. She has led art retreats in Italy and taught workshops for adults through the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, ME, the Maine Art Education Association at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, ME, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, ME, as well as independently hosting virtual and in-person workshops in the Mid Coast region of Maine. She has become a resident artist at Skidompha Library in Damariscotta, ME where she has created multiple public art pieces, sculptures, and murals, as well as organizing events and facilitating opportunities for both adults and children to be creative and explore art making. She was recently awarded a grant from the Maine Arts Commission supporting her work as a virtual art educator which has allowed her to grow as a teacher and fulfill a dream to be able to give artistic opportunities back to rural communities similar to where she grew up.
